BEST THINGS TO DO IN ILOILO
Getting to Gigantes Island
From Roxas City Airport
Isla de Gigantes is widely regarded as one of the most breathtaking beaches in the Philippines that is not on any major tourist route. Because of its limestone karsts, white sand beaches, and one-of-a-kind lagoons, it is just as beautiful as El Nido.
There are a number of tour companies that provide nearly all-inclusive day tours of the islands for those who want hassle-free travel.
The following are the ways to get to the island for anyone who would still like to go on their own or who has plans to remain overnight on the island.
Take an Aircraft to Iloilo City
If you are coming from Iloilo City, the trip to Estancia/Carles will take anywhere from two and a half to four hours, depending on whatever mode of transportation you choose: a bus or a van. There are far more flights between Manila and Iloilo than there are between Manila and Roxas. The cost of plane tickets to get to Iloilo is typically lower than that of flying to Roxas City, possibly because there are so many different flight options available.
Philippine Airlines, AirAsia, and Cebu Pacific offer passengers the opportunity to fly to Iloilo City.
Iloilo City is accessible via nonstop flights from the coming Philippine cities: Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Clark, Davao, General Santos City, and Puerto Princesa.
Singapore and Hong Kong have direct flights to Iloilo City, Iloilo International Airport is your best option if you are coming from those two countries.
Everyone coming from other countries will be required to travel through Manila.

Roxas City to Gigantes
Ride a Bus/van Going to Carles or Estancia
Carles and Estancia have seaports with boats that can take tourists and local passengers to Isla de Gigantes. It would be more logical to depart from Carles, seeing as how Isla de Gigantes is a part of that municipality. Coming from Carles, one is also closer to the stunning islands, which means that one may anticipate the boat trip being shorter.
Because Gigantes Island is located farther away from Estancia, traveling via Carles would be a good option. On the other hand, Estancia is served by a greater number of public transit options than Carles is.
So when you plan for your Gigantes Island getaway, consider the trade-offs between taking the shorter land trip and the longer boat ride, or taking the shorter boat ride and the longer land trip.
Getting to Estancia Port from Roxas City
You can ride a tricycle to the Roxas City Transport Terminal from any point in the city if you ask the driver to bring you there.
Once you have arrived at the station, you should board one of the Ceres buses or vans heading in the direction of Estancia. The trip to Estancia via bus will take approximately two hours on its whole. Vans are more efficient than other modes of transportation because they make fewer stops, therefore the trip will be a half-hour faster if you use one.
The Estancia Bus Terminal will serve as a stop for all forms of public transit. You can then ride a tricycle to the harbor of Estancia from there.
Getting from Roxas City to Carles/Bancal Port
You can ride a tricycle to the Roxas City Transport Terminal from any point in the city if you ask the driver to bring you there.
Once you have reached the terminal, you will be able to board a bus going for Carles. Take note, too, that there are hardly any buses heading in the direction of Carles. If you are unable or unwilling to wait, you can get aboard one of the buses going in the direction of Estancia and ask to be let off at the Balasan crossing instead (which is the junction bound for Carles).
Take a tricycle that is headed to the public market at the Balasan junction or crossing, or even better, ask the tricycle driver if he is ready to take you directly to Bancal Port in Carles. The trip to Bancal Port via tricycle would take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Get on the Boat That Will Take You to Isla De Gigantes
You will need to take a passenger boat from Estancia Port or Bancal Port (Carles) in order to reach Isla de Gigantes via Langub Port in Gigantes Norte. This is the only way to reach the island.
Although most of the well-known attractions can be found in Gigantes Sur, the majority of the island’s resorts can be found in Gigantes Norte, making this the more convenient starting point for visitors.
The boat ride from Estancia to the stunning islands typically takes between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.
The following is a schedule for the public boats:
